⛩️ Alone in Kyoto

"Alone in Kyoto" is a visual exploration of the city’s identity through five key themes. It examines the lives of local residents, balancing tradition and modernity, and captures the symbolic role of Meiko and Geiko in preserving cultural heritage. The series also addresses the influence of tourists on Kyoto’s cultural fabric and contrasts historic sites and natural landscapes with modern developments. Through these themes, the project presents Kyoto as a dynamic interplay of past and present, tradition and innovation, and local and global influences.
